The Walked - it captures a quiet yet powerful moment of movement—an introspective journey that reflects the complex nature of adult decision-making. The work speaks to those moments when choices feel distant, unclear, yet deeply necessary. It is an exploration of walking forward without certainty, guided by intuition and inner resolve.
Created in a blend of impressionism and semi-abstraction, the composition features soft pastel tones layered with subtle charcoal accents, creating a delicate balance between lightness and depth. These contrasts invite the viewer into a mindful, contemplative space, allowing the artwork to reveal new emotions with each viewing.
This is a one-of-a-kind original painting, unframed to allow collectors the freedom to choose a presentation that best suits their space. A framing example is included to help visualize its potential in a finished setting.
About the artist
Patricia Houston - I am a visual artist and a passionate mental health advocate. I masterfully blend abstraction with a mix of styles to express emotions and textures. For over 14 years, I have been depicting unique artwork shaped by a rich dialogue between Caribbean and Western influences. I specialize in what I like to call self-growth art - paintings that reflect transformation, emotional healing, inner strength, and emotional rebirth. I strategically aligned my pursuit of a psychology degree with formal art classes to further enhance my artistic skills and deepen my understanding of the human experience while creating art. My art has culminated in a unique and original style, characterized by bold brushstrokes with vibrant color palettes, to depict nature, emotion, and personal experiences.
